Dancer
My names Katie Owen and I’ve been a dancer for the last 17 years of my life, since I was two years old, along with taking part in competitive sports like diving and swimming. During this time, I put a lot of pressure from myself to “look the part” due to taking part in sports which required my body to be on display and judged based on how I looked, which resulted in an unhealthy relationship with food and exercise for roughly 7 years of my life. Since recovering from this I have gone to university to train to become a professional dancer and I am currently a finalist for Miss Great Britain Manchester where I am hoping to share my story and inspire others who have struggled with the same or similar challenges. I’d love to be a guest on your podcast and further share my story save experiences.
