In Season 11, the Spirit of Manchester Awards and the Meet the Mancunian will collaborate for the second year and spotlight a full season featuring Spirit of Manchester 2025 nominees and winners on their inspiring stories of social impact. Season 11 launches 14 October 2025.
The Spirit of Manchester Awards are a series of awards celebrating and highlighting the excellent work being carried out in Manchester’s voluntary and community sector. Now in its 13th year, the Spirit of Manchester Awards recognises examples of great community spirit and all that's best about the voluntary sector. The Awards raise the profile of the sector amongst the general public and encourages local giving and active citizenship.
The 13th annual awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 2nd October 2025 at The Sheridan and will be streamed online via YouTube where viewers participate live to vote for the winner of each category.
The Joy Ethic Show on All FM
The Joy Ethic Show is a monthly radio programme and podcast hosted by Jolene Sheehan on ALL FM 96.9. Airing every third Friday at 1 PM, the show explores themes of creativity, connection, and community wellbeing by highlighting stories and services across Greater Manchester. Listeners can also catch up on episodes via Spotify and Mixcloud.
Jolene is the founder of Joy Ethic, a Manchester-based social enterprise offering a range of wellbeing events, including podcast and other digital training, and community storytelling through projects like Stories of Our Lives. A qualified mindfulness practitioner and former teacher, she’s passionate about helping people reconnect with their creativity, self-esteem, voice, purpose, and sense of connection.
During Season 11 of the Meet the Mancunian podcast, Jolene will feature short segments highlighting Spirit of Manchester Award nominees, sharing their inspiring stories with Joy Ethic Show and ALL FM audiences.
