I thoroughly enjoy listening to all the podcasts and learning more about the amazing people who live and/or work in Greater Manchester. For example, when I listened to Yasmin Ariff's WomenEd coaching journey I learnt about the profile of women who generally seek coaching and what their issues are. I think it is inspirational that Yasmin offered free coaching to women leaders in WomenEd, which benefitted them enormously and also informed her research. I learnt that leaders need to slow down to be more effective and that coaches encourage retention, as employees gain resilience and are empowered. Sarah Steinhoefel speaks in another podcast, she is another coach who works with women in their 30s and 40s who lack confidence. She spoke about the progress and changes that the had seen in her coachees throughout their coaching journey, which was really interesting. Although I have commented on two specific podcasts which centre on coaching, it is clear that a diverse range of individuals, careers and backgrounds are featured. I particularly love the search by category function, so that I can hear about different topics that I don't have much exposure to, e.g. supporting Mental health with theatre with Zac Blinston. Before I listened to the podcast I had a good understanding of mental health issues and ways to improve mental health but I had very little knowledge about how theatre could be used. Hearing different perspectives from people that come from different backgrounds and have different experiences is crucial for broadening our thinking.
